Jamaica - Whitehouse 
Your team will be Based in Whitehouse, Westmoreland, on the southwestern coast of the island and will be working with Kingdom Builders Ministries. KBM ministers both in the local church and through its children's home and other ministry connections throughout the island. KBM is widely acknowledged across the island of Jamaica for their work with abandoned and neglected children. "My Father's House Children's Home" is the nickname for the residential care home that Kingdom Builders operates in Jamaica, and your team would be working and staying at "My Fathers House" which is situated only a few blocks from the ocean.

During your stay you'll have time to interact with the 14 abandoned and neglected children who call this place home.

Do I need a passport or visa?
YES! To travel abroad to any country outside of the United States you now need to have a passport. No visa is currently required for US Citizens to enter Jamaica at this time.
How long is this trip?
Generally our trips are 7-8 days, though teams can always choose to either extend or shorten their length of stay.
Where is Jamaica?
Just south of Cuba in the western Caribbean Sea.
What is included in the cost?
Everything you'll need once you enter Jamaica: food, lodging, transportation, drinking water, a one day trip to beautiful YS River Falls, and even supplemental health insurance!
What's not included in the cost?
Airfare, passport, vaccinations, spending money, offering at church services, construction and/or ministry materials.
Where will we be staying?
You team will stay in guest rooms at "My Fathers House Children's Home" located just 2 blocks from the ocean. This facility is a large home with room enough to host teams of 30 in addition to all of the kids who live there year round. KBM will provide all meals for your team each day and you'll have lots of opportunities to get to know the children who call this place home.
What language do they speak in Jamaica?
English. Although many Jamaicans also speak Patwah a local derivative of Creole.
Is it safe?
Yes. We take extra precautions and lay down strict ground rules to ensure safety. Crime occurs in Jamaica just like everywhere else, but it is considered a safe place to visit.
What about bugs, snakes, and other poisionous creatures?
Jamaica has its share of these animals, as does every tropical country on earth. The chance of seeing anything dangerous is very, very slim.
Who can go on this mission trip?
Anyone you want to bring. Simply Missions is different from other short-term mission agencies in that we want to work alongside you as a leader in developing both your skills and your team. We welcome you to include families with children, junior high, high school and college students, and adults of any age!
How do airline tickets work?
We have arrangements with a couple of different travel agencies that specialize in group travel. Also, we can put you into direct contact with most airlines which offer a discounted rate for groups of 10 or more.
